PatiBase Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern the use of the PatiBase mobile application, website, and digital services connected to PatiBase, provided by Köksal Fındık / PatiBase.

By downloading PatiBase, creating an account, or using the service, you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use PatiBase.

PatiBase is a pet platform developed for pet owners, people rehoming animals, volunteers, and pet service providers. Through the app you can create a pet profile, use a QR/NFC-enabled digital pet profile, create lost or found pet listings, publish adoption listings, keep health records and reminders, and view veterinary clinics and pet shops on a map.

PatiBase does not provide veterinary services, emergency health services, insurance services, official government services, or animal ownership transfer services. PatiBase is a digital platform that helps users manage information about their pets more easily and access related services.

1. Account Creation and User Responsibility

You may need to create an account to use PatiBase. The information you provide when creating an account must be accurate, up to date, and belong to you.

As a user:

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.
You may not use someone else's identity, contact details, photos, location, or profile information without permission.
You may not share misleading, fake, incomplete, or malicious information.
You are responsible for all actions taken through your account.
You may not use PatiBase in a way that violates the law, animal welfare, or the community guidelines.

In cases of fake information, misuse, suspected fraud, security risk, or violation of these Terms of Use, PatiBase may temporarily or permanently restrict, suspend, or delete your account.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

The PatiBase name, logo, app designs, interfaces, software, databases, brand elements, and content created by PatiBase belong to PatiBase or the relevant rights holders.

Unauthorized copying, modification, reproduction, distribution, reverse engineering, attempts to extract source code, or creation of derivative works of the app, its content, source code, design, interface, database, brand, or any part of it is prohibited.

Photos, videos, listings, descriptions, comments, messages, and similar content uploaded to PatiBase by the user remain the property of the user. However, the user permits PatiBase to use this content for the purposes of providing, displaying, sharing, storing, and technically processing PatiBase services, and for security and moderation processes.

3. Pet Profiles

Users can create profiles for their pets on PatiBase. These profiles may include the pet's name, species, breed, age, gender, photos, health information, lost status, and similar information.

The user is responsible for the accuracy of all information shared in a pet profile. PatiBase does not guarantee the accuracy, currency, or completeness of information in pet profiles created by users.

Content that is incorrect, misleading, inappropriate, infringes the rights of others, or is contrary to animal welfare may be removed or restricted by PatiBase.

4. QR/NFC Digital Profile Use

PatiBase may offer a digital profile feature for pets that can be accessed via a QR code or NFC tag.

This feature is designed so that, if a pet goes missing, the person who finds it can more easily contact the pet's owner.

The user should carefully decide which information will appear on the QR/NFC profile. The user is responsible for the accuracy, currency, and sharing preferences of the contact information on the profile.

PatiBase does not guarantee that the use of a QR/NFC profile will result in a pet being found, returned to its owner, or any lost-pet situation ending positively.

Misusing the QR/NFC profile, creating a profile for someone else's pet, sharing incorrect contact information, or including third parties' information without permission is prohibited.

5. Lost and Found Pet Listings

Users can create lost or found pet listings on PatiBase.

When creating a lost or found listing:

The information shared must be accurate, current, and in good faith.
Photos, phone numbers, addresses, locations, or personal information belonging to others may not be shared without permission.
Listings that are untrue, misleading, malicious, or intended for fraud may not be created.
If reward information is shared, the user is responsible for its accuracy and consequences.
Harassment, threats, spam, fraud, or abuse may not be carried out through a listing.

PatiBase may remove suspicious lost/found listings or those that violate these Terms of Use, request that they be edited, limit their visibility, or suspend the related account.

PatiBase does not guarantee that a lost pet will be found, that a found pet will be returned to its owner, or that communication between users will end positively.

6. Adoption Listings

PatiBase aims to support the rehoming of pets in an ethical, safe manner that prioritizes animal welfare.

Through PatiBase:

Animals may not be sold.
Mandatory payments or similar commercial demands may not be requested under the name of deposit, fee, commission, or donation.
Breeding, farm, pet shop sales, or commercial listings may not be published.
Misleading information about health, age, species, breed, vaccination, neutering, or behavior may not be provided.
Animal welfare must be the priority throughout the adoption process.
Listings for illegal species, prohibited animals, or adoptions contrary to legislation may not be published.

The user publishing a listing is responsible for the accuracy of all information shared in it. Communication, meetings, handover, care conditions, subsequent responsibilities, and possible disputes between adopting and rehoming users are the parties' own responsibility.

PatiBase is not a direct party to the adoption relationship between users. PatiBase does not guarantee that the adoption process will be completed safely, accurately, or without problems.

However, PatiBase reserves the right to remove listings, limit their visibility, and suspend accounts in cases of animal sales, fraud, fake listings, mistreatment, violations of animal welfare, or violations of these Terms of Use.

7. Health Record and Reminders

The health record and reminder features in PatiBase are provided to help pet owners track their care processes.

Users can create records for vaccinations, medication, vet visits, operations, grooming, food, parasite treatments, and similar items.

These features are for information, record keeping, and tracking purposes only. No information in PatiBase replaces a veterinary examination, diagnosis, treatment, or professional health advice.

You should always consult a licensed veterinarian regarding your pet's health condition, medication use, vaccination schedule, emergencies, or treatment.

The timely operation of reminders may be affected by device settings, notification permissions, internet connection, operating system limitations, third-party services, and technical reasons. PatiBase does not guarantee that reminders will work uninterrupted, on time, or without errors.

The user is responsible for the accuracy, currency, and use of the health records they enter into PatiBase.

8. Veterinary and Pet Shop Map

PatiBase may allow users to view businesses such as veterinary clinics and pet shops on a map.

Business names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, locations, and similar information on the map may be obtained from different sources, from the businesses themselves, from third-party services, or from user reports.

PatiBase does not guarantee that business information on the map is always accurate, current, complete, or uninterruptedly accessible. Users are advised to verify information by phone or the relevant contact channel before visiting a business.

PatiBase is not responsible for the services, prices, quality, or opening hours of the businesses listed on the map, for the relationship between the user and the business, or for any damage caused by a business.

Users who believe business information is incorrect can report it to PatiBase. PatiBase may update or remove business information or change its visibility where it deems necessary.

9. User Content and Community Guidelines

You can share profiles, listings, photos, videos, descriptions, comments, messages, location information, and similar content on PatiBase.

You are responsible for the content you share.

The following content and behaviors are prohibited:

Content involving violence, animal abuse, mistreatment, or neglect
Sexual content, hate speech, harassment, threats, insults, or discriminatory statements
Fraud, spam, fake campaigns, or misleading redirection
Sharing photos, videos, contact details, or personal data belonging to others without permission
Fake lost, found, or adoption listings
Listings intended for animal sales or commercial breeding
Misleading health advice, unauthorized veterinary claims, or harmful guidance
Content contrary to the law, public order, animal welfare, or these Terms of Use
Technical interference that could harm PatiBase systems, users, or services

PatiBase may, without prior notice, remove content it deems inappropriate, reduce its visibility, limit access to it, or suspend the related account.

PatiBase is not obliged to pre-moderate user content. However, it may review content in case of complaints, security checks, or suspected misuse.

10. Messaging and Communication Between Users

PatiBase may allow users to communicate with each other in the context of adoption, lost listings, or other modules.

Communication between users must be respectful, safe, and lawful.

Harassment, threats, fraud, spam, sending inappropriate photos, misuse of personal data, fake redirection, or malicious communication is prohibited.

PatiBase is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or outcome of communication between users, or for the relationship between the parties. However, it may review reported content and take measures it deems necessary for security, complaint management, and the prevention of misuse.

11. Notifications

PatiBase may send notifications about reminders, lost listings, adoption messages, system announcements, security notices, and similar topics.

The necessary permissions must be enabled on your device to receive notifications. Users can manage their notification preferences from device settings or within the app.

PatiBase does not guarantee that notifications will always be delivered on time, completely, or without interruption.

12. Third-Party Services

PatiBase may use third-party services to provide certain features. These services may include analytics, notifications, maps, error tracking, cloud infrastructure, or similar technical services.

Third-party service providers used by the app may have their own terms and policies. Some third-party services used in PatiBase may include Google Analytics for Firebase, Expo, and Mapbox.

Interruptions, errors, data processing methods, and terms of use of third-party services, or problems arising from these services, may be subject to the relevant third-party provider's terms.

13. Internet Connection, Device, and Technical Conditions

Some PatiBase features require an active internet connection. Problems with Wi-Fi, mobile data, device settings, operating system restrictions, notification permissions, location permissions, or third-party services may affect the operation of some app features.

PatiBase is not responsible for inability to access the service due to lack of internet connection, mobile data limits, carrier charges, roaming charges, a dead device battery, device incompatibility, operating system changes, or similar reasons.

Keeping your device and your access to the app secure is your responsibility. Jailbreaking, rooting, or operations that weaken device security may affect the security and operation of the app.

14. Artificial Intelligence Features

PatiBase may use AI-powered tools or automated analysis systems in some of its features. These features may be used for improving the user experience, content classification, security, support, recommendations, or similar purposes.

AI-powered outputs carry no guarantee of absolute accuracy. Users should not make decisions based solely on AI output, especially on matters that may have health, safety, adoption, or legal consequences.

PatiBase aims to provide AI features in accordance with applicable legislation and the relevant privacy policies.

15. Prohibited Uses

PatiBase may not be used for the following purposes:

Conducting unlawful activities
Selling animals, commercial breeding, or illegal animal transfer
Creating fake accounts or impersonating others
Defrauding, misleading, or manipulating users
Damaging the technical infrastructure of the app
Using bots, automation, unauthorized data scraping, or similar methods
Collecting other users' personal data without permission
Sharing content contrary to animal welfare
Spam, harassment, threats, or malicious communication
Disrupting the security, reputation, or operation of the platform

When such behavior is detected, PatiBase may remove the related content, suspend or permanently close the account, or share information with the competent authorities where necessary.

16. Modification, Pricing, or Discontinuation of the Service

PatiBase may improve, change, temporarily suspend, or remove features in the app.

Some features may be active only in certain regions, for certain user groups, for test users, or in a pilot phase.

PatiBase reserves the right to change the app, add new features, remove certain features, or charge for certain services at any time and for any reason. If a paid service is offered, the relevant fee and conditions will be clearly communicated to the user.

PatiBase does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always accessible.

17. Limitation of Liability

PatiBase does not guarantee the accuracy of information, listings, messages, health records, business information, or relationships between users shared on the platform.

PatiBase does not undertake that:

a pet will be found,
the adoption process will be completed without problems,
health records are medically accurate,
reminders will work in every situation,
the QR/NFC profile will produce results in every situation,
map information is always up to date,
disputes between users or businesses will be resolved,
the app will run uninterrupted or error-free.

The user uses PatiBase at their own responsibility.

18. Account Deletion and Leaving the Service

The user may request deletion of their PatiBase account or stop using the app at any time.

After account deletion, the user's account, profile, and related data may be deleted, anonymized, or retained within the scope of legal retention periods, in accordance with legislation, security, and technical requirements.

19. Complaints and Reports

Users can report inappropriate listings, fake profiles, suspected fraud, animal sales, harassment, incorrect business information, content contrary to animal welfare, or other violations through the in-app reporting tools or to info@patibase.app.

PatiBase tries to evaluate incoming complaints within a reasonable time. However, it is not guaranteed that content will be removed, an account will be closed, or action will be taken in the user's favor as a result of every complaint.

20. Changes to the Terms of Use

PatiBase may update these Terms of Use from time to time.

Updated terms are published on this page. Significant changes may be communicated to users in the app, on the website, or by email.

Continuing to use PatiBase after the updated terms come into effect means that you accept the current Terms of Use.

21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.

In any disputes that may arise between the parties, the courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Türkiye have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the provisions of the applicable legislation.
